The first thing we did at 7:00a.m. this morning was to attend the
40th anniversary mass of the Chinese choir at the Sacred Heart Cathedral.
There were estimated to have about 1,500 attendees.

After the mass, we went to breakfast at a near by resturant for
a Malaysian style breakfast.

We scheduled a youth gethering with the local youth, over 100 youth
attended.
We played some games to warm up. Fr. Yan also played with us. The
games lighten up the atmosphere and help everyone to get acquainted.
The game we played was "Slavery". Everyone was given
some money. Each person needs to try to earn more money so he/she
can buy some slaves. When a person lost all his/her money or caught
by the Money Monster, he/she becomes a slave. However, some slaves
or non-slaves can escape this tragedy if he/she is "saved".
In order to have more be "saved", they need to spread
this news...

After the games, we were separated into groups to
discuss questions on how we can evangelize.
In the afternoon, we visited the Iban natives in
the long house. These Malaysian natives still lives in their tradition
long house, which holds over 50 families. We were welcomed with
the tradition ceremony and the their traditional lunch.
The Iban natives eat only a bit of meat and they
eat a lot of vegetables. They are very healthy. They also have a
special kind of rice wine. It tastes good.
Iban
After lunch, the Iban danced for us. We then sang
Talitha Koum for them.

Some also joined them in dancing. The Iban women
also taught us how to play their instrument. The friendly Iban kids
also showed us places were they play and gave us a quick tour of
their community. When we leave, the children were yelling "I
love you!" as we pass by.

We then went to the nearby park - Taman Jubilee Bukit Park. Since
some members are returning home later tonight, we took this chance
to have some sharing.

There is also a small hill in the park.
Today we have a busy schedule, after the Iban visit and visit to
the park, we went to the Sibu Benevolent Nursing Center to spend
some time with the elderly.
Albeit we did not speak the same Chinese dialect, the elderly enjoyed
the time we spend together singing and dancing.
Before we leave, Fr. Yan gave blessings to everyone.
After the visit, some members departed us and returned
home while some of us continued our day of visitation.
At night, we went to a the home of a Chinese Islamic family. We
spend the night having dinner, talking and singing. It was a warm
and harmonious evening. The family welcomed us warmly and our differences
in religious believes did not separated us.

After dinner, we went to a trade and development exhibit that showed
Sibu's future city development.
